Game 5 WAS@MIA

Marlins and the hated Phillies. Three more times on base for the unstoppable Eric Thames was not enough as the Nats matched their record with tonight's 3-2 loss in Miami with their ace Sandy Alcantara earning the win with seven shutout innings. A mere two or three inches decided the game in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Nats, already down 1-0,  almost executed a beautiful inning-ending double play that was not to be. Following a walk to open the sixth, Corey Dickerson's bunt attempt trickled four feet from home plate and stopped.
